Hello from Terrafugia

Welcome to the Terrafugia eNewsletter.  These are exciting times for General Aviation and for our Company -- your interest is certainly appreciated.  This newsletter is sent out periodicallly to share our updates with the aviation community as we progress towards the first delivery of the Transition® Roadable Light Sport Aircraft in 2011.

If you have questions about Terrafugia or the Transition®, please feel free to send us an email at info@terrafugia.com .  We also appreciate your spreading the news by forwarding this email to a fellow aviation enthusiast.  You can read past issues and sign up for yourself at:www.terrafugia.com/newsletter.html

The buzz created by the announcement of our first flight has not diminished.  We continue to receive numerous media requests and have been prominently featured at all of the events where the Transition has been on exhibit.  Please check the Events section of our website www.terrafugia.com/events.html) for the lastest calendar of scheduled appearances.  We hope to see you in the near future.

With the sustained first flight buzz has come a substantial increase in airframe reservations for the Transition.  If you are interested in reserving your own place in production, please email us at sales@terrafugia.com or see www.terrafugia.com/order.html

Best regards,

Flight Testing Successfully Completed

Terrafugia recently completed the fourth and final testing deployment of the Proof of Concept Transition® (POC) at Plattsburgh International Airport in upstate New York.  It is a thrill to see the Transition® in the air, accompanied by one of our chase planes.  After a total of 28 flights of the POC, Terrafugia is pleased to announce the successful completion of our testing objectives.  These tests evaluated characteristics such as handling, climb, performance, take-off and landing.

The Proof of Concept validated three basic goals: we could design/build a roadable aircraft, drive it and fly it.  The testing programs on the ground and in the airin addition to accomplishing these goals, have lead to a number of engineering and design modifications which will significantly improve the vehicle’s performance.  Rather than spending the resources required to modify the POC, Terrafugia has decided to focus our efforts on the Beta Prototype, which has a target completion date of 2010, and on our first customer delivery in 2011.

Additional footage of the flights and sessions with Test Pilot Phil Meteer are available online at www.terrafugia.com/videogallery.html

Sun 'n Fun

The Transition® was clearly the hit of the show at this year's Sun 'n Fun expo in Florida, the second largst of its type in the U.S.  We were highlighted by the show's promoters - even displaying the vehicle on a large electronic billboard to encourage visitors to attend the event) - and our exhibit area was constantly crowded.  Aviation enthusiasts young and old, including many of you who signed up for this Newsletter at the show, made the week a great one for Terrafugia.  It is clear that the Light Sport Aircraft / Spot PIlot Certificate classifications, along with the introduction of the Transition® Roadable Aircraft, have ushered in a new era in General Aviation.  We look forward to having you continue to be a part of this exciting time in General Aviation.

Next Steps

Our engineers are busy with the design and optimization for the next Transition® prototype, dubbed the Beta Prototype.  All systems are being re-analyzed with the information and experiences from the POC's testing program, as well as feedback from our customers, in mind.  The first set of formal reviews is now being conducted on this improved design; construction of the Beta Prototype is expected to begin this coming winter.  Please stay tuned for updates.
