Enter to Win an Oshkosh Transition® VIP Package at Sun 'n Fun!

Terrafugia will have an exhibit at Sun 'n Fun in Lakeland, FL next week  (April 13 - 18).  While we won't be releasing the next generation design of the Transition® until Oshkosh, we're giving everyone that visits us at Sun 'n Fun a chance to win a special package to be there for the design release press conference at Oshkosh on Monday July 26th.

The package includes two adult admissions to EAA AirVenture for Monday July 26th, two VIP passes for the press release, two embroidered Terrafugia hats and two Terrafugia logo Sigg® water bottles to get you equipped for the show. You'll also have personal access to the Transition® Proof of Concept at Oshkosh.

So, stop by space E-011, say hi and enter your name into our drawing!

Looking ahead, AirVenture runs from July 26 through August 1.  If you have never attended “Oshkosh,” it is an experience you will never forget.  As the largest General Aviation exposition in the world, the number of aircraft, vendors, and related activities is truly overwhelming.  Make your plans early!  Don’t hesitate to contact us should you have any questions on either event.

Congratulations to a New Sport Pilot!

Terrafugia would like to congratulate Mark (#0073, New York) on the Sport Pilot Certificate he earned earlier this year!  For anyone intrigued by the Transition®, but not sure if you’re up to the challenge of becoming a pilot, Mark’s a great example of how you too can make your dream come true.  Inspired by a TV news piece showing the Transition’s first flight about a year ago, Mark said “As soon as the TV segment ended, I went to the Terrafugia website to learn more and view the various videos.  The very next day, I contacted our local flying club.  The ability to fly somewhere, then drive to a final destination, combined a practical element with a spirit of adventure that touched something in me.”

Now an active Sport Pilot, Mark is looking forward to accepting delivery of his Transition® in the future.

Mark says: "Twice in the last few months I wanted to fly from my hometown to the Boston area to visit family.  Even though the weather on much of the route was good, my home airport was socked in.  In a Terrafugia Transition®, I could have comfortably made the trip, starting out on the ground and driving to an airport when weather improved.  The charts show that I'd never be more than about 15 minutes drive from an airport at any point on the 300 mile route.  Having a Terrafugia Transition® means not having to cancel plans or feeling pressure to fly in marginal conditions."

Mark is also eager to describe his newfound passion for flying and offer encouragement to those who haven’t yet tasted flight. “Come out to the airport and learn more about the joys of flying!”

If you'd like to learn more about becoming a Sport Pilot, but don't know where to start, we're happy to help.  Just email us at info@terrafugia.com

Terrafugia is Proud to Support STEM

At the request of the Massachusetts Department of Transportation Aeronautics Division, the Transition® Proof of Concept vehicle was displayed at the Plum Island Airport (2B2) on March 19 at a celebration honoring this year’s winning team in the 2010 Real World Design Challenge for high school students. A nationwide aeronautical engineering competition, the team from Newburyport (MA) High School was selected to represent the state at the finals in Washington, D.C.  Terrafugia’s participation in the ceremony is another example of our support for a number of programs that encourage science, technology and mathematics (STEM) initiatives at all levels of education.
