High speed taxi testing has been ongoing at Lawrence Municipal Airport. Here the wings have been removed from the Transition® to avoid the risk of unintentionally becoming airborne as the propeller drives the vehicle up near the predicted rotation speed. Test Pilot Phil Meteer and Senior Engineer Andrew Heafitz are in the cockpit.

The Transition® Proof of Concept folding wings recently passed a 4g static load test. Both flight wings were attached to a purpose-built test spar (a duplicate of the flight spar in the vehicle) and loaded with enough sandbags to simulate the pressure distribution in a 4g maneuver. The wings both held the load quite well and deflected as predicted by design calculations. (The foam under the wing is insurance in case of a failure and was not needed.)
