Are you interested in learning more about the technical challenges and design process of developing the Terrafugia Transition, the premier flying car? If so, we invite you to join Terrafugia Senior Engineers Mark Corriere and Nicholas Tucker as they present a one-time webinar hosted by NASA Tech Briefs, Thursday, March 6th at 1 pm (EST).
The Transition addresses the limitations of typical general aviation aircraft by extending the multi-purpose flexibility of its driving capability. The engineers will discuss the engineering challenges posed by building a lightweight structure that is both capable of withstanding FMVSS (Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standards) crash testing and complies with LSA (Light Sport Aircraft) regulatory requirements.
From conceptual design to manufacturing, Terrafugia utilizes simulation tools such as ANSYS Mechanical and ACP to significantly reduce development time and costs. Both Corriere and Tucker have been leading the analysis and simulation charge on the Transition and have used this iterative process to increase confidence in the physical structure.
This presentation will be live, with time allotted for a brief Q & A, so audience participation is encouraged. To join the conversation and for more information click here.
