We at Terrafugia are fortunate to have the opportunity to develop the future of personal transportation. It’s a fantastic position for those of us fortunate enough to work here, but in the past it has been frustrating because there have been so many wonderful people who have wanted to help us with whom we could not practically engage. The management overhead needed to get something useful out of a group of volunteers was not an efficient use of our corporate resources — no matter how much we appreciated the sentiment.
Today, the internet is opening up opportunities to practically leverage that general interest into something useful. It is with great enthusiasm that we announce the roll-out of our first crowd sourced design initiative! In conjunction with our partners at GrabCAD, we are launching an industrial design challenge to help us make TF-X™ a consumer product that will not only provide revolutionary capability, but also inspire an insatiable desire to use that capability all the time. I think the TF-X™ is pretty cool today, but with an army of industrial designers working all over the world on the internet, I think it will be even cooler!
So, I invite you to throw your hat into the ring and submit a design into the TF-X™ industrial design competition!
